Are you right with God?

I was worried about my father’s soul

Are you right with God? Or are you worried about a loved one’s soul? Well, I was worried about my father’s soul. April-May 2006 Daddy was in his last days and I was worried about his soul. I sure was. I was in the U.S. and he was in the Republic of Panamå. I’d call him and read scriptures and talk with him about God, Jesus and salvation. I knew Daddy knew of God but I wasn’t sure if he knew God and had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

One morning I called Pastora (My mother’s best friend who is a pastor). I shared with her my worries and asked her to go see Daddy at the hospital to make sure he was right with God. Without hesitation she said yes, she’d go. I was anxiously waiting to hear from her. When she got back to her home we talked and she said, “Your father is right with God.” What a relief! Glory to God! What joy! What peace! I was so thankful to God! Daddy passed May 11, 2006.

The dream about Daddy I’ll never forget

July 21, 2006, I dreamed of Daddy. He looked rosy! Daddy was dressed in all-white, looking dapper in his suit. He was glowing and looked amazing! So I said to him, “Daddy, you made it! You look great!” And he answered with a big smile and nodding, “Yes! I made it!” Then I asked him for Ricky (my oldest brother) and he smiled and nodded yes, “He’s here.” I continued asking for other relatives, “Is so and so there?” Then when I got to a dear relative’s name, Daddy’s head dropped and he looked very sad and said, “No, he didn’t make it.” I was terrified! I was like, “What! He didn’t make it!” Then I immediately woke-up, upset, shaking and crying.

My father-in-law was not ready

November 17, 2010. Carlos, my husband, was already in Panamå because his father was hospitalized and not doing well. I was in the U.S. and called my father-in-law’s caregiver to check on things. While talking she mentioned that before my father-in-law went into the hospital she was talking with him about salvation and he said he wasn’t ready. I was alarmed and immediately called Carlos and told him what she said. We knew he knew of God but we weren’t sure if he knew God. There was a sense of urgency. I gave my husband three verses, John 3:16 and Romans 10:9-10, to read to his Dad.

My father-in-law raised up and said “Yes, I do!”

Carlos, take it from here…

“I went to the hospital and started praying over Daddy and read the verses. I read John 3:16 first. When I finished reading Romans 10:9-10 he came out of his unconsciousness. His body raised up and he said, “Yes, I do!” I wanted to make sure he understood what I read so I asked, “Daddy, do you accept Jesus Christ as you Lord and Savior?” He answered again,  “Yes, I do!” Then Daddy went right back into unconsciousness. This all happened in a matter of seconds.

Chills ran through my body because of the way it all happened. I was praying and talking to Daddy, hoping he’d hear me and he did. God gave him that last bit of strength to raise up and come out of unconsciousness to respond to the reading. And immediately after, his body laid back and he went right back into unconsciousness. He never came out of it.

After this happened, I called Debbie and my sister to tell them what had happened. I was still shaking. I was shook-up because of this experience. These were the only words Daddy said while in the hospital and they were also his last words. I was so thankful to the Lord for giving my father the opportunity to say yes to Jesus and get right with Him. Daddy passed November 21, 2010.”

Jesus is the only way to get right with God

We’d like to believe that we are all going to heaven but sadly that is not the truth. Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is the only way to heaven. Jesus is the only way to get right with God!

I use to continue praying for people’s souls even after they died until one day God told me that if he or she did not accept Jesus Christ before death, He couldn’t do anything for their souls after death. He told me to pray for living souls because they have many opportunities to accept Jesus Christ and get right with Him, until their very last breath. So that’s what I do. I don’t have to know you to pray for your soul.

Anytime I hear of someone terminally ill or dying, I immediately start praying for them, that he or she is right with God, and if they’re not, that he or she accepts Jesus and get right with God before they take their last breath. When I hear of someone passing, my first thought is, “I hope he or she was right with God.”

Ohio Gov. John Kasich interview… WOW!!!

I watched an interview on CNN (aired August 27, 2018) with Ohio Gov. John Kasich after Senator John McCain passed. Gov. Kasich said something that caught my attention and I don’t know how many people caught it. He [Gov. Kasich] spoke with Sen. McCain when he learned he was ill to ask him if he was, “okay with the Lord.” He says McCain assured him, “John, I’ve got that all taken care of.”” I’m telling you my ears perked up and my heart was bursting with joy. I was sooo impressed and delighted to know that this friend was interested in his friend’s soul. This was an expression of Jesus Christ’s love to its fullest. WOW!!!

Sadly, there are some that just don’t “get it” and will never. They don’t understand the importance of being right with God. This determines where you go when you die… your final destination. This is the most important decision you’ll ever make in your life. I really hope you “get it” for your own sake. Because at the end of our life journey, this is the only thing that will matter.

Are you right with God?

The only way to get right with God is by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, do it now!

Say this prayer…

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I am calling on You according to Acts 2:21 (NIV): “And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” I confess my sins and ask for Your forgiveness. I pray and ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my life according to Romans 10:9-10 (NLT): “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” I do that now. I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead. Amen

Are you worried about your loved ones’ souls?

Many of us worry about our loved ones’ souls, especially when they have expressed that they have not accepted Jesus’ as their Lord and savior or are not ready to do that. We worry more when our loved one is terminally ill and dying. What to do? Well, I remember when the hospitals had a chapel and the Chaplain would minister to the sick. I don’t know if that is still done. But what I suggest to do is ask your Pastor or Priest to visit your loved one, as I did when I asked Pastora to visit my father.

If you have a loved one in a life threatening condition and you’re not sure if he or she is right with God and you’d like me to pray for his or her soul and pray in agreement with you, please send me your prayer request. I’ll be honored to do that. We must pray for one another.

Bible Reflection

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”  John 3:16-18 NIV

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” John 3:36 NIV

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe that?” John 11:25-26 NIV

”If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 NLT

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as one understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 NIV
