How to Keep It Together

How do you keep it together and not fall apart when things are coming at you left and right? Yes, how do you keep it together when you and/or loved one(s) is/are going through all kinds of challenges i.e., health, finances, relationships, children, etc.? How?

How to keep it together?

Let me tell you how to keep it together: God! Yes, God is the answer. Turn your worries/troubles over to Him and trust Him. That’s what I do. God, through Jesus, gives me the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical strength and wisdom to keep it together.

God gives me the strength to get out of bed every morning, wash my face, shower and put on clothes when I really don’t feel like it. And He will do the same for you! I know there are some of you who don’t feel like, want or have the strength to get out of bed, much less put yourself together. And unfortunately many fall into a depression. If this is you, if you have been in a depression for a while, please, please seek help. Talk to someone. You don’t have to do this alone.

Trust God

When my husband and I are facing challenges (believe me, we have stuff going on like everybody else) and we start feeling some kind a way, I always say: we either trust God or not. Yes, that’s the Holy Spirit reminding me to trust God because He has always taken care of us. And you know what, after that reminder, I immediately feel God’s peace and go about my business, God’s business.

God sends help

People talk with me all the time. I know that the pain, sadness, hurt, heartache, struggle, etc., are real and it’s hard to keep it together at times. But please know first of all, God loves you and He knows everything you’re feeling and going through.

God didn’t promise us a life free of trouble. But He did promise that He’ll never leave us or forsake us. That He will be with us in times of trouble and get us through each one. And He sends people to help us with praying with us and for us, sharing His Word with us, giving us words of wisdom and encouragement, cheering us up or to just listen.

This is a way God helps us to keep it together. I’m blessed to be one of those people called to do this and I take my calling seriously. Everybody has a calling that helps others, in a variety of ways, keep it together.

Who helps you keep it together?

Who helps you keep it together? I hope it is God. Because God is the only One, through Jesus, that can/will help you keep it together. I encourage you to turn your worries/troubles over to God and trust Him. Then you will experience God’s love working in you and for you, working things out, His way and in His perfect timing. That’s how you keep it together.

Bible Reflection

“So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
