Let’s Rise and Shine in 2020!

2019 Gone!

I know that for many, 2019 was a tough year and you couldn’t wait for it to be over. Well, it’s over! There were break-ups, divorces, betrayals, health issues, spiritual warfare, conflicts and discord (at home, work, school, etc.), loss of loved ones, disappointments (fired, didn’t get the job/promotion, car, house, soul-mate, etc.), suicidal thoughts, just bad things popping-up left and right. Good things happened too but you were so wrapped-up in the bad, you couldn’t see and really appreciate the good.

Let’s make bad things work for us. Let’s be wiser, stronger and determined. Determined to overcome. Yes, determined to succeed. Above all, determined to rise and shine! We’re not going to allow bad things to keep us down, to keep us from being all we can be… and more. No way! That ain’t going to happen. Not on God’s watch! Okay!

Let’s Rise and Shine in 2020… The Right Way!

Let’s rise and shine in 2020! The right way is God’s way… with Prayer and standing firm on God’s Word and on His promises.

We know that “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind.” Numbers 23:19 NIV. So, if He said it or it is written, He’ll do it. Jesus said, “You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!” John 14:13-14 NLT. And that’s exactly what we’re going to do. Also, Jesus said, “But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.” Mark 11:23-24 NLT. Please pay close attention to what Jesus said, “believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.” Hence, “doubt” is the reason why some prayers are not answered. Got it!

God gave us His Bible so we don’t have to be wandering around and looking for answers all over the place. It’s all in the Bible! “Jesus replied, “Your mistake is that you don’t know Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God.” Mark 12:24 NLT. God tells us exactly what to do! God will work miracles in our lives if we just do what He tells us to do. “Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20 NLT. I’m just not running my mouth, I know this first hand.

Let’s Rise and Shine in 2020… God’s Way!

We’re going into 2020 claiming victory right now over any mess that comes our way. Mess will happen, “But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.” 1 John 4:4 NLT.

We’re going into 2020 believing that all the good things we’ve been praying for, if it’s in God’s will and timing, we will receive. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV.

We’re going into 2020 with confidence that God’s love, God’s peace and God’s joy, through Jesus Christ, will overpower fear, depression, anxiety and stress, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 NLT.

We’re going into 2020 with more love and less anger. “Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tight to what is good.” Romans 12.9 NLT. “Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters. You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires.” James 1:19-20 NLT.

Please know that God does not want us to live in fear, misery and restlessness. Sure, we all have our moments but if those feelings extend for a long time, then there is something else that needs to be addressed and may require professional help. So, pray about it and God will tell you exactly what to do and He will put the right people in your life to help you.

Let’s Rise and Shine in 2020… Prayed-Up!

Let’s rise and shine prayed-up and standing on God’s Word and on His promises. This is my 2020 prayer with related scriptures, just for you!

Please bow your head. Let us start with the Lord’s Prayer…

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” Mathew 6:9-12 NIV

Thank God for everything…

“This is the day the Lord Has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118-24 NLT. Father God, I’m grateful for another day and another year to praise You, to worship You and to give You thanks for all you’ve done for me, doing for me and will do for me all the days of my life.

Remember God’s promises…

Father God, I look forward to 2020. I know that You will always be with me because You promised that You will never leave me nor forsake me (Deuteronomy 31:6). Likewise You promised that You will be with me in time of trouble (Psalm 91:15) and I know that greater is He in me than he that is in the world (John 4:4). Moreover, You will make all things work together for my good because I love you (Romans 8:28) and you will give me more than I ask for or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

Father God, I put my life and future in Your hands. I believe that the good plans You have for me (Jeremiah 29:11) will become my reality in 2020. I believe that Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) will be in me and will surround me every day of my life. For You have given me a spirit of power, of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). I believe that goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life (Psalm 23:6). Fix my thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure and admirable (Philippians 4:8).

Talk to God about everything…

Most High God, I surrender to you my worries (Philippians 4:6) and lift-up to you the desires of my heart (Psalm 37:4) for 2020 (be specific, tell God your worries, problems, fears, doubts, struggles, whatever is on your mind and what you’d like Him to do for you). I believe that I will receive what I’ve asked for (Mark 11:23-24), if it’s in Your will and perfect timing. And I give you all the praise, all the honor and all the glory.

Heavenly Father, please strengthen me when I’m weak (1 Chronicles 16:11). I pray for good health and prosperity (Job 36:11) in all the areas of my life because You care about every detail in my life (Psalm 37:23). Please let me live a loving (Romans 12:10), peaceful (Philippians 4:7), joyful (1 Peter 1:8), purposeful, and fulfilling life and use the gifts you’ve given me to bless others (1 Corinthians 12:4-6).

Holy Spirit, produce in me the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 6:22-23). I pray for the fruit of the Spirit to work in me and through me and guide my words, actions, interactions and reactions.

Ask God for protection…

Most High God, cover and protect me (Psalm 91:9-12). Keep me safe so that the enemy cannot enter into my heart, into my mind and into my life to rob, steal, kill and destroy the abundant life Jesus came to give me (John 10:10). I plead the Blood of Jesus (John 3:16).

God is good…

Our Father in heaven, You are so good to me! I pray for Your will to be done in my life. Thank You for Your love, mercy and grace. I pray in agreement with all the people that are praying for me.

Lord, hear my prayer, in the Name above all names, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Accept Jesus Christ as Your Lord and Savior

If you want to start 2020 God’s way, then you’ll first have to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, if you haven’t yet. Please understand, Jesus is the only way to God and to heaven (John 14:6), there is no other way. When you take this first step, your life will be forever changed… guaranteed!

Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, believe in your heart that on the third day God raised Him from the dead, and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9-10). Then say this prayer…

“Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and for answering my prayer. In Jesus’ name. Amen.” (Posted September 1, 2019, The Prayer of Salvation by Constance A. Burns, naavets.org)
