GiJiM Guest Writer: Paulette
Paulette writes inspirational poems inspired by God. She shares her poems with family and friends to brighten their day, encourage their souls, uplift their spirits and give them hope. Don’t we need all of that!
I asked Paulette to share one of her poems with my GiJiM friends, and she graciously accepted. Yay! 😁 I’m so excited to share Paulette’s poem with you.
In this poem, Paulette is talking directly to you. She understands how you feel and gives you hope. No, it has no title but as you read it, make it personal and give it your own title. I know this poem will bless you! It blessed me!
Here we go…
Are you?
Tired to the bone,
Feeling all alone.
Your body is aching,
Life – you’re just faking.
Do you?
Want to sleep all day,
Keep your troubles away.
Stay up all night,
Give up the hard fight.
Will you?
Try something new,
Stop feeling blue.
Turn a new leaf,
Stop all the grief.
Can you?
Spin it around,
Find new ground.
Go to a higher power,
Life wouldn’t be so sour.
Should you?
Pray for your salvation,
Get rid of the devastation.
Ask God for guidance – HIS will be done.
Yours is just a pittance – HIS is magnitude.
Yours is a small hindrance – HIS is all encompassing.
Yours will pass – HIS will last forever.
Wishing you a day filled with new beginnings!
About Paulette
Paulette was a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) teacher at a Catholic church years ago. She taught 5th graders for 8 years. Paulette says it was very rewarding teaching children that you can talk to God anywhere at any time.
One of Paulette’s favorite chapters is 1 Corinthians 13. She says “It rings so true to me. Love is the greatest power in the world. It can uplift and make you soar and bring you so much joy. Pure love is powerful and steadfast and endures all! But we usually don’t “do” love right, and this chapter reminds us how to behave and speaks truth about our part in a loving relationship.”
Paulette also likes Hebrews 3:13, “Encourage one another day after day…” She says, “I think this simple act can change the world one person at a time. It has a ripple effect, that keeps going and going. When you lift up others, you too are lifted closer and closer to our Father.”
Paulette shares some of her thoughts: “I believe that worrying is an insult to our Lord because it says to Him that you don’t trust Him. I also believe that every day is a gift and we must start it in thanks and praise for we never know when we will go home to our Lord.”
Note from Deb…
Paulette is my colleague and our spirits connected. God just has a way of connecting His people. She’s my sister in Christ, what a wonderful blessing! We keep each other encouraged and uplifted. Yay!
If not everything, there is something we can all relate to in Paulette’s poem. Because we’re human! Yes, life is filled with ups and downs and feeling all kinds of ways. We all have our moments. But then she gives it a positive spin. And ends the poem with the best news ever.. JESUS! He’s the only way to salvation, your salvation… the only way to God!
