Regrets… Something you said or something you did not say. Something you did or did not do. These words/actions are based on circumstances or willful or influenced by others or beyond our control. In some cases you can ask for forgiveness but you can’t take back, undo, redo your words/actions and sometimes there are lasting consequences or its irrevocable.
There are some regrets that haunt us our entire life. And when they come to mind they bring all kinds of emotions. I don’t know about you but I have two of those. One makes me sad and teary; the other makes me mad and fiery. This is something I will live with for the rest of my earthly life. But God has given me His peace and His grace to live with it.
The Biggest Regret Ever
Now let’s talk about regrets beyond this earthly life. The only regret I can think of is not accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. For those of us who believe that there is heaven and hell, this would be the biggest regret ever. That’s what happened to that rich guy who wound up in hell (Luke 16:19-31).
So, if you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior or if you are not sure that you are saved, I encourage you to do this right now. It’s so easy… Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, believe in your heart that on the third day God raised Him from the dead, and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Don’t let this be your biggest regret ever!
Now say this prayer…
Our Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus I call on You according to Acts 2:21 (NIV): “And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” I confess my sins and ask for Your forgiveness. God our Father, I ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my life according to Romans 10:9-10 (NLT): “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” I do that now! With my mouth I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead. Lord, hear my prayer. Amen
