Happy 2019! What have you been up to? Can you imagine, we’re already in the 13thday of the year. Yes really!
I spent New Year’s eve with my two favorite guys. We played Chicken Foot (my version) and we had fun. It was a game my husband and I played a few years ago with our small group at one of our socials and it was lots of fun.
Looking back on 2018 and Looking forward to 2019
What I really want to share with you, in case you’d like to try it –or not, was what we did after we played the game. I had blank papers for each of us to fill out with 2018 written on one side and 2019 written on the other side. My son said, “Momma, you’re the only one who gives homework on New Year’s eve.” Lol!
Anyway, I kept it simple. This is what we filled in:
2018
- Planned and did
- Planned and didn’t do and why
- Unexpected event(s)
- Lessons learned/takeaways
2019
- List goals
- How do I plan to achieve my goals?
- Timelines
Then we took turns to talk about 2018 and 2019. We had a good discussion and can hold each other accountable. Then we laid our papers on the table and held hands over them and prayed to God, in Jesus’ name, believing that God will provide everything we need to successfully accomplish our 2019 Game Plans.
Tips on Making Your 2019 Game Plan
The truth is, we all have lots of stuff in our heads (things we would like to do) but we really need to write them down. When you write things down, it makes you think things through and helps you determine if it’s realistic or not, what you will need, the level of effort and time it will entail.
After you write it down, make your plans God’s plan. With God on your side, all things are possible. Pray! Present your 2019 Game Plan to God, believing that if it’s in His will, it will be done. If it’s not in His will, ask Him to give you an accepting and peaceful heart.
Put your 2019 Game Plan somewhere visible. Put it where you have to see it because you want to see it, if not every day, as often as possible. You need the reminder to keep you on track. I highly recommend to have an accountability partner. This person will help you stay on track.
As you accomplish each goal, check it off and give yourself a pat on the back and celebrate.
My 2019 Game Plan
There are several things I’d like to do in 2019. I’ll share four of them with you.
- Spend less and save more. I think I do a good job not buying things I don’t need but there is always room for improvement.
- Eat better. I really forget to drink water and eat fruits so I need to be more mindful.
- Mix-up my workout. I was primarily riding my stationary bike and one day I went on the treadmill and realized that I need to mix things up.
- Promote and support small businesses and I hope they do the same for each other too. Networking and helping each other makes a difference. I encourage everyone to support and promote our small businesses. Buy their products and services. You have the tools to promote. All you have to do is share, follow, like. Simple!
What’s your 2019 Game Plan? I pray that 2019 will be the best year ever for you and your family, in Jesus’ name.
