Who are you leaning on?

Something is going on…

I know something is going on in your life or in the life of a loved one right now. What is it? Broken marriage/friendship, family discord, financial troubles, dealing with a serious illness, loss of a loved one, working in a toxic work environment, didn’t get the job/promotion/car/house you’ve been wanting, struggling with an addiction, worried about your kids/parents, longing to love and be loved… what is it? Maybe it was something said or not said. Or something done or not done.

Who are you leaning on?

Yes, there are so many things that can break us down and shake us up mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. And I know you’re feeling all kinds of ways… alone, sad, lost, worried, unloved, unworthy, disrespected, disappointed, offended, depressed, stressed, discouraged, anxious, angry, defeated, helpless and hopeless. So, who are you leaning on?

You’re broken, facing challenges, in a dark space, back against the wall, the going is tough, can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, ready to give up, filled with fear, can’t think straight. So I’m asking you again, who are you leaning on?

Are you leaning on yourself? Leaning on others? Or are you leaning on the only One who is able to help you… God?

“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” Psalm 46:1 NLT

Ooh Wee!

I’ve had my share of bad things happening, because no one gets a pass; and there was a time when I leaned on me and it was hard. And once in a while I leaned on others and they failed me. But you know what, we’re only human and we are all imperfect so I’m not mad at them because I know I’ve failed others too.

But in 1999 when I rededicated my life to God and surrendered ALL to Him, that all changed. Alleluia! Praise God! I started to lean on God for ALL things. Ooh Wee! Let me tell you, what a relief, what a peace. I can’t aptly put it into words. It’s inexplicable.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

God is the only One

Friends, I really hope you know that God is the only One you can lean on. He is the only one that can give you unconditional love, wisdom, comfort, peace, joy, hope, guidance, make you strong when you are weak (2 Corinthians 12:10), and restore you in every way and make you whole. Only God can do that.

In times of trouble when you go to God first, He will give you who and what you need, when you need it and get you where you need to be mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically… for His honor and glory.

“You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth. You will restore me to even greater honor and comfort me once again.” Psalm 71:20-21 NLT

Lean on God

So on this Easter Sunday, Resurrection Sunday, lean on God. Surrender ALL to Him. Lay your heavy burdens at the foot of the cross and watch God perform miracles in your life, through His Son Jesus, who lives in us through the Holy Spirit. God will give you more than you might ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NLT

Jesus is the only way to God

God loves you (Ephesians 3:18-19)! He will never leave you, He will never fail you (Deuteronomy 31:6). But here’s the thing, there is only one way to God… Jesus. You can only get to God through Jesus (John 14:6).

“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” Numbers 23:19 NLT

So friends, if you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, there is no better time than right now. Jesus died and rose on the third day so you and I can live in eternity with God and Him in Heaven. Priceless!

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believe in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NLT

Say this prayer of Salvation

Our Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus I call on You according to Acts 2:21 (NIV): “And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” I confess my sins and ask for Your forgiveness. God our Father, I ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my life according to Romans 10:9-10 (NLT): “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” I do that now! With my mouth I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead. Lord, hear my prayer. Amen

Welcome to God’s family!

Jesus lives! Jesus is risen! Happy Resurrection Sunday!
