I’m thinking that because we don’t see God we forget that He sees us. His eyes are on you 24/7. You can’t hide from God! He sees you!
“…You are the God who sees me…” Genesis 16:13 NLT
Let me start out by saying that God knows that we’re not perfect and this world is certainly not perfect and will never be. He knows that we are going to make mistakes and maybe even fail. But the good news is that hopefully we learn and try to be our best and do our best so we can live the life God planned for us.
“”For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”” Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
What is God seeing?
So what is God seeing? Please take a moment to think about this.
Many homes have cameras inside and outside their homes as a security measure because we want to protect our homes and most important, ourselves and our family. We want to see everything, 24/7, no matter where we are. Don’t want to miss a thing. If we are parents or caregivers, we want to keep an eye on our children’s every move.
Well guess what? God has been doing this forever, okay. He’s been watching our every move, 24/7. When you think you’re alone and secretly doing what you shouldn’t be doing or watching what you shouldn’t be watching or listening to what you shouldn’t be listening to, guess who’s eyes on you? God’s! You got that right!
God sees you!
So, teenager, you’re out there acting buck wild because you’re out of your parent’s sight but guess what? You’re not out of God’s sight. Gotcha! Hey, cheating spouse. You think you’re sneaking around and nobody sees you. Well you got that wrong. God sees you! You at work, slipping out with company’s property when no one is around. Well I have news for you. God is the 24/7 surveillance and He sees you.
God sees us at our best and worse, in our ups and lows. He sees when we do good and bad, when we are happy and sad. He sees it all. We can pretend and fool the world but God sees us and knows the truth about us.
I truly believe that if we have awareness of God, that would stop us from doing things we shouldn’t be doing. We’d be mindful of our words, actions, interactions and reactions. But we just don’t think about God. Out of sight, out of mind. Is that what it is? Here’s the bottom line. Although we don’t see God, He sees us.
“I could ask the darkness to hide me, and the light around me to become night – but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.” Psalm 139:11 NLT
God sees what’s going on in the privacy of your home
Now let’s take it home. Even in the privacy of your home, there’s no privacy with God. What goes on in your home, God sees it. Your personal business is God’s business. I hope you know that.
So, let’s talk about what’s going on in your home. Is everything okay in the privacy of your home? Or is there physical, mental or emotional abuse? If you are a victim of any type of abuse, please seek professional help. Is there addiction, i.e., drugs, porn, alcohol, gambling, food, sex, internet shopping, social media? If you have an addiction, please seek professional help. You may be able to hide these things from the outside world but God sees it. Or maybe your family is going through tough times, i.e., health, finances, kids, aging parents, work. Whatever it is, ask God for help. He will be with you and get you through whatever you’re going through. God loves you! Remember His plan for your life (Jeremiah 29:11).
When you are by yourself, how are you really doing? When you start thinking about your life, your future, family, uncertainties, difficulties, problems, challenges and struggles you are facing, do you break down crying, fall apart? Are you hurting or grieving? Please know that God sees you and feels every bit of what you’re feeling and going through. You don’t want people to know your heartbreak, pain and hurt so you hide it from them. But God’s eyes are always on you, as a loving, caring, good and devoted Father watching you. Nobody watches you 24/7 but God does. He is the only one who does that.
“The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.” Psalm 121:5-8 NLT
Guess who else sees you 24/7?
Guess who else is watching you 24/7? The devil. He takes advantage of you, preys on you in your weakest moments, when you’re vulnerable, overwhelmed, feeling sad, discouraged, betrayed, low, worthless, tired, loss, frustrated, stressed, alone, used, abused, ashamed, helpless and hopeless. He plants fear, anxiety, depression and doubt in your mind and heart, and tries to get the best of you any way he can. And he’s not done. He tries to tempt you to go back to old bad habits. Making you believe that it’s going to make you feel better or happy or solve your problem. He is a liar and hates you, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy…” John 10:10. Keep your guard up!
Yes, the devil might mess with you or mess you up but the good news is that Jesus got your back. You might have gotten off track but God, through Jesus, will get you back on track. God is a loving and merciful God. Pray, surrender all to God, do what He tells you to do and your life will turn around for the better. “… My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” John 10:10 NLT. “No despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” Romans 8:37 NLT
When you know God, you will feel His eyes on you and feel loved
What I’d like you to take away from this message is to have awareness of God. I didn’t always have awareness of God. I knew of God but didn’t know God. Big difference. I was 37 years old when I had my life changing encounter with God and started my love journey with Him. God has been working for me, in me and through me, and growing me for the past 20 years. I’m still a work in progress.
But one thing I can tell you, I’m not the same girl I was 20 years ago. I’m so much better, blessed and highly favored. And I’m not saying this because it sounds good. I’m saying it because it’s my truth and God told me to tell my truth. And I’m not talking about material stuff that you have today and can lose tomorrow. I’m talking about Spiritual stuff that last forever.
Every person’s journey is different. What matters is that you’re on God’s love journey. Are you?
God ‘s love journey
God’s love journey, with Jesus leading the way and the Holy Spirit assisting, will take you to your final destination… heaven. You really don’t want to be left behind. If you are not on God’s love journey, I pray you will, in Jesus’ name.
I say all this to say that when you get to know God and get close to Him, you will feel His eyes on you. You will feel loved! The kind of love no human can give you. It is the kind of love you can’t put into words. Inexplicable love! Too awesome!!! That’s what I’m talking about!
“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” Ephesians 3:18-19 NLT
