Sweetest Christmas Memories

My first Christmas, my first doll

My baby photo brings back the Sweetest Christmas Memories of my first Christmas. I was seven months old when Ma gave me my first doll, Christmas 1962. Ever since then the only thing I wanted for Christmas was a doll and that made me soo happy. And Ma made sure I always had a doll on Christmas day. I loved my dolls and took the best care of them. And guess what? I still love dolls!

My Christmas Gift To Me

About 15 years ago it dawned on me that “Hey, I can buy my own dolls!” And that’s exactly what I did and started my dolls collection. That’s my Christmas gift to me!

So, every Christmas I shop for at least two small dolls, under $10. I have too much fun!!! I know what I like and that’s my thing. That’s what I do for me.

When people see me in the toy section looking at dolls, with a BIG smile on my face, they probably think I’m shopping for a child. They are so right! I’m shopping for the child in me that will never grow-up. That little girl in me still gets excited about dolls.

This year because of COVID I shopped online and it was still too much fun!!!

What’s your Christmas gift to you? A book, CD, game, jewelry, handbag, coloring book, puzzle, makeup, shirt, outfit, shoes, journal, art set, etc..

Me Time

I really think that everybody should do something special for themselves. Treat yourself to something nice. Something you love, enjoy, relaxes you, makes you smile, laugh, happy and feel real good. That something that makes your forget your worries for a moment.

If you don’t, I suggest you find that something special. Please note I said something and not someone. You got to know how to make yourself happy and not always depend on others for that.

I’ll share a secret with you… when I need a “Happy Break” and “Me Time,” I look at my dolls, and that little girl in me gets all pumped up. I start smiling and for that moment I forget all my worries. I feel warm and fuzzy, and so relaxed. YAY!

So, take a “Happy Break” and have “Me Time.” Do something fun and create your Sweetest Christmas Memories. You deserve it! You sure do!

What’s your Me Time? Reading, dancing, listening to music, watching movies/videos, walking/running, cooking, coloring books, doing puzzles, knitting, yoga, spa day, writing, drawing, painting, etc..

We Time

My dolls bring back the Sweetest Christmas Memories of when Ma and I played “dolly house.” We laughed and had so much fun. Ma would sew the cutest and coolest outfits for my dolls. Let me tell you, my dolls always looked beautiful and fabulous… okay! That was our bonding time, our special time together, our “We Time.” Ooh… those were priceless moments with Ma. I’ll cherish them forever.

With my own family, we have our own Sweetest Christmas Memories and continue to create new ones.

So, take a “Happy Break” and have “We Time” with family and friends and create your Sweetest Christmas Memories. You’ll cherish those moments forever. You sure will!

What’s your We Time with family and friends? Exchanging/opening Christmas gifts, matching pajamas, taking photos, dinner, playing games, watching movies, looking at photo albums, talking/joking, ZOOM with family/friends, etc..

Bible Reflection

“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24 NLT

“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 NLT

“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can.” Ecclesiastes 3:11-12 NLT
