Sometimes you just got to make yourself happy and there is no better time than now. We got to do this for our mental wellness. Take a “Happy Break!” You need it!
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.” Proverbs 17:22 NLT
We Wake Up to Chaos and Negativity
Yes, the climate is toxic, coronavirus is lurking around and we’re basically confined to our homes and feeling like the walls are closing in. We’re not socializing and we miss our families and friends, hugs and kisses, and wondering how much longer can we live like this without “losing it.”
We’re mourning, uptight, anxious, nervous, stressed, depressed, sad, scared, frustrated, overwhelmed, exhausted, feeling helpless and hopeless. Every day we wake up to chaos and negativity and we feel it all day and it is taking a toll on us.
Make Time to Take a “Happy Break!”
Well guess what? We are going to do something about this right now. Yes we are! Starting today we are going to make time, every day, to take a “Happy Break!” The same way at work or when taking training you get 10-15 minutes breaks, well that’s exactly what you are going to do daily. You will unplug and disconnect even if it’s only for ½ hour and laugh, relax and enjoy. Got it!
Tips to Make Yourself Happy
LAUGH: Read jokes or think and watch something funny and LAUGH heartily. Or talk with someone you know will say something funny that will make you bust out laughing. And please don’t feel guilty or bad about laughing. When we are going through tough times that’s when we need a good hearty laugh.
RELAX & ENJOY: Read a book. Read your Bible. Pray. Watch a nice relaxing movie or a game show. Listen to music. Get up and dance. Do yoga. Write. Take a nice long bath. Go for a walk. Play games. Do nothing. Whatever makes you happy, just do it. Life is too short and we must find ways and make time to relax and enjoy life.
